✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Detailed Raman‐scattering and polarized infrared reflection measurements are reported on KBrO~3~ at 300 K and at liquid helium temperature. The angular dispersion of all extraordinary phonons is compared with theory. Also the static dielectric constants are determined from the measured frequencies.

The 298 K Raman and reflection spectra of the polydiacetylene THD, a close structural variant of DCHD, are presented. The polymer double-and triple-bond stretch frequencies are 1485 and 21 I 1 cm-', respectively, and the lowest electronic transition peaks at 17600 cm-'. The reflection spectrum is mo

## Abstract Infrared reflectivity plasma measurements performed in the range 300 to 4000 cm^−1^ on TlBiTe~2~ single crystals with a high density of coherent and semicoherent twins, at room temperature, reveal a frequency relaxation time of the form τ^−1^(ω)  τ~0~^−1^ + __b__ω^__n__^. With __n__ =
