C]-Azoisobutyronitrile was used to initiate free radical polymerization of methacrylonitriIe at 60° in dimethylsulphoxide solution. Approximately two initiator fragments were found combined with each polymer molecule, indicating that termination was almost exclusively by combination of pairs of polymer radicals.
