✦ Synopsis

The decay times of fluorescence from 4 i& and 41 lSiz levels of J_aF~rDy3+sin~Ie crystals have been measured in the temperature rzm_qe 77 to 673 IL The deay rate of 4Fg, is found to be 720 S-I and that of 41,s12 is calculated to be less thao 15 x 103 s-1.

We report in this paper the observation of fluorescence from the G-level ( 'I1sn = 22350 cm-') of Dy3+: LaF3 using 4765 A (20981 cm-') excitation of an Ar\* laser. This fluorescence of Dy3+, 30 far not reported in any lattice, is observed only for temperatures beyond 300 K. It is found to increase i

The radiative decay rates of the 3rr,\* states of coumarin, piperonal and 4-methoxybenzaldehyde were determined at the O-O, and different vibronic bands involving both totally and non-totally symmetric vibrations. The emission from the z and x sublevels is primarily due to the mixing of the 3nrr\*
