โœฆ Synopsis

Partial ground plane is a method for making a wideband microstrip antenna. This article presents a wideband multi-ring microstrip antenna using BGS. In comparison to the microstrip antenna with partial ground, the BGS antenna has a better performance such as reflection coefficient and bandwidth. As can be seen from the current research, the reflection coefficient improved at least 2.5 dB at 5 GHz and at most 7 dB at 20 GHz. This optimized microstrip antenna has the potential of operating in several of the currently broad band commercial and military existing systems such as Bluetooth, GSM, and ESM.

## Abstract A novel two square split ring resonators defected ground structure (DGS) is investigated for use in low pass filters (LPF) design. An equivalent circuit and parametric study for the DGS are presented. The DGS is employed in a LPF to obtain very wide reject band. The measured results ill
