✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A novel two square split ring resonators defected ground structure (DGS) is investigated for use in low pass filters (LPF) design. An equivalent circuit and parametric study for the DGS are presented. The DGS is employed in a LPF to obtain very wide reject band. The measured results illustrated the excellent performance. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A novel compact microstrip low‐pass filter (LPF) is proposed in this article. The proposed LPF is composed of semicircle‐defected ground structures (S‐DGS) and semicircle stepped‐impedance shunt stubs (S‐SISS). An equivalent lumped L‐C circuit model is also presented. With the S‐DGS and
## Abstract A stepped impedance resonator (SIR) low‐pass filter using defect ground structure (DGS), which has high isolation and compact size, is proposed. The proposed defect ground structure (DGS) provides excellent cutoff and stopband characteristics for improving the stopband rejection and the
## Abstract This article presents a method to reduce the size of LPF/BPF using defected ground structure (DGS). The DGS filter structure employs two cross‐slots etched in the ground plane. To validate the feasibility of the proposed design method, a low‐pass filter with 0.1‐dB ripple is designed, f
