โฆ Synopsis
The sol-gel-glass transition of atactic polystyrene in carbon disulfide over a wide temperature range from 170 to 300 K has been investigated by neutron quasielastic scattering methods.
A drastic narrowing of the quasielastic peaks was observed for the present system as the temperature is lowered and the narrowing completes at the glass transition. Two types of local motion were observed in the so-gel transition.
