in galvanic elements was studied for many combinations o f elements by means of suitable electrolytes. The EMF is independent of the concentration and to a certain extent also of the nature of the electrolyte; it depends only o n the solubility product of the resulting difficultly soluble salt. E M F measurements thus permit exact determination of solubility products.
