✦ Synopsis

To search for the quantum critical point (QCP) in the transit from antiferromagnetic metal CeAl 2 to paramagnetic superconductor CeCo 2 , transport (Hall coefficient, resistivity) and magnetic properties have been studied on the high-quality polycrystalline samples of solid solutions Ce(Al 1Àx M x ) 2 (xo0.1, M-Co, Ni) in a wide temperature range 1.8-300 K. The analysis of Hall mobility and magnetic susceptibility parameters shows the significant anomalies in the vicinity of Co impurity concentration xE1.5-2 at%, that possibly may be considered as a QCP in these strongly correlated electron systems.

The alloy CePd 1Àx Rh x is a unique example undergoing quantum critical behavior between ferromagnetic CePd ðT C ¼ 6:6 KÞ and mixed valence CeRh. The negative curvature of T C ðxÞ holds up to x ¼ 0:6, followed by a positive tail with the lowest measured T C ¼ 0:25 K at x ¼ 0:80. We report on a detai
