## Abstract ## BACKGROUND Genes encoding enzymes involved in estrogen metabolism are held to be candidate genes for associations with breast disease. In these candidate genes, no critical combination of single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) for assessing breast carcinoma risk has been reported to
