For the high temperature desalination and purification possible use of tk'o kinds of membranes were pursued_ Dynamically formed membrane is fundamentally usable at high temperature and its module has been developed and tested. Also one type of commercially available module, hollow fiber type 'Hollosep", was tested at high temperature under lower pressure and found it durable over 70°C at 30 kg/cm2. These modules were tested by treating the geothernbzl brine. that contained SiO3 and NaCl. They worked well when the brine contained only ionic SiO 2' but was fouled by the colloidal SiO2_
