Thin films of superconducting TmBaaCu3OT\_ 6 have been deposited on (100) MgO substrates by pulsed-laser deposition. The zero-resistance temperatures achieved were, typically, T~o= 88 K and the critical current densities, jc (77 K), in excess of I0 e A/ cm 2.
We present here detailed transport, magnetic, structural and morphological studies on thin and ultra-thin films of superconducting YBa2Cu307 \_~ ( 1-2-3 ) deposited on single crystalline substrates of LiNbO3. The films were deposited using the technique of excimer laser ablation and have been found
