β¦ Synopsis
The sensitivity of polymers to oxidation and chain missioning during exposure to high energy radiation is mitigated by the use of radical trappin stabilizers of the hinder4 phenol and hi&red amine classes. The stabilizers undergo o x&iv-formationsindleprocessand, in the case of hi&red phenols, yield colored products with conjugated %-electmns, which contribute to the discoloration of the polymers. Hindemd amine stabiRzer& in combination with trivalent phosphorus melt processing stabilimm, are the stabili" of choice to protect pp against gamma radiatton since they arc effective in protecting polymer properhes smce they am usually much less discoloring than hindered phenolic stabdizers.

## Abstract In the present study, we investigated in vitro radioprotective potential of caffeic acid (CA), a naturally occurring catecholic acid against gamma radiationβinduced cellular changes. Different concentrations of CA (5.5, 11, 22, 44, 66, and 88 Β΅M) were incubated with lymphocytes for 30 m
