โฆ Synopsis
We calculate the self-energy of a single hole in the half-filled antlferromaguetic two-dimensional Hubbard model. The minimum energy occurs at k = (7r/2, 7r/2) and is 37% lower than in Hartree-Fock. The hole lifetime tends to infinity for low-lying states, showing that quasiholes are well-defined excitations. The hole Fermi surface is predicted to change topology for doping concentrations larger than ,~ 159~.

The two-dimensional Hubbard model is studied by means of the composite operator approach. In a generalized mean-field approximation we calculate local quantities, as the double occupancy and the magnetic moment, for various values of the particle density, repulsive Coulomb interaction and temperatur
The bound states of p holes are studied within the two-dimensional two-band model with the antiferromagnetic exchange interaction between d and p spins, J. The binding energies of p holes are computed as a function of the Cu-O transfer and one of J within the mean-field theory with the periodic boun
