Relationships between the generalized di raction integral formula for angular spectrum through any misaligned optical system in spatial-frequency domain and the fractional Fourier transform are bridged in this paper, which provides a new description of the di raction of any misaligned optical system

β¦ Synopsis
The propagation formulae of elliptical Gaussian beam through misaligned optical systems in spatial domain and spatial-frequency domain are investigated analytically by using tensor method. The derived formulae provide a powerful tool for treating the propagation and transformation of elliptical Gaussian beam through misaligned optical systems. As an application example, the propagation properties of elliptical Gaussian beam through a misaligned thin lens are illustrated.
