Reaction rate constants of a coilinear model with a step function type of potential are obtained from the reaction probabilities. The activation energy is found to agree almost csactly with that obtained from a much more sophisticated potential surt'ace.

A resonrmce decay model of bimolecular exchange reactions successfully treats product vibronic stale distributions. Product vibronic population inversions are controlled by the extent of product structural change whichoccurs as reaction energy is released.
