โฆ Synopsis
During the session discussions took place between representatives of the Liverpool Geological Society and the Manchesrer Geological Association, as a result of which a joint comminee was formed to be responsible for editing, publication and sales of the JournaL The committee is known as the Liverpool and Manchesrer Geological Journal Comminee. THE LIBRARY: There has been some falling off in the number of items borrowed by members, this being 278 in 1954 compared with 360 in 1953.
A number of books, journals, etc. bequeathed to the Society by the late Mr. A. W. H a r r i s have been added to the Library.
During the session the Hon. Librarian has completed the classification and filing of the collection of over six hundred pamphlets and reprints, including many received under the T A. Jones and W. A. H a r r i s bequests.

At an Extraordinary Meeting preceeding this address, it was agreed that Rule 4 (An Ordinary Member may become a Life Member by payment of 12 guineas, or after 10 years' Ordinary membership, 6 guineas) &odd be rescinded.
Pitcher led a party of amateur geologists to sct the geology of the Wirral. On 30th April, Professor F. W. Cope demonstrated the geology of North Staffordshire. THE s o c m ' s SILVER MEDAL was awarded to Dr. D. A. Bassctt, Keeper of Geology at the National Muscum of Wales.
Walton (University of Edinburgh) who lectured on "Flysch and Greywackes-the sequence of sedimentary structures". Distinguished Visitor's Lecture by D. Curry, M.A. on "Marine geological exploration in the Western English Channel".
