The hydrogen-atom abstraction of the title compounds from ethanol was found IO originate from the It slave in spite of the Inked nn\*--nn\* or nn\* chractcr of the lowest triplet state (Tt). No evidence for electron transfer from ethanol IO the Tt state of a-1131o~enoa~~tilraquinoncs WIS obtained.

Triethylami~e was exnted to a vibrational level of the S2 (Rydberg) state and then ionized III a (2 + 1) resonance multiphoton ionizat,on method. From the kinetic energy measurements of photoelectrons, we have been able to determine the location of the vibrationless S2 level.
