✦ Synopsis

The pressure shifts, d, of the (0-0) band of the b 1 R ΓΎ g -X 3 R Γ€ g electronic transition of oxygen (the so-called Γ”A-bandΓ•) have been measured at room temperature using high-resolution Fourier transform spectroscopy. The rotational dependence of d has been measured and characterised; the average value of the shift over the whole band is Γ€0:009 AE 0:001 cm Γ€1 atm Γ€1 . No significant variation in d is found for different O 2 mixing ratios in N 2 , and the results presented here are therefore appropriate for high-resolution atmospheric applications using the O 2 A-band.

The pressure shifts of the (0,0) and (1,0) bands of the b 1 S / g -X 3 S 0 g transition of oxygen (the so-called A and B bands) have been measured at room temperature in pure oxygen and in nitrogen using high-resolution Fourier transform spectroscopy. The average self-shift in the (1,0) band is 00.0

The n 6 band of methyl chloride centered near 1018 cm 01 has been recorded with a precise homemade Fourier transform spectrometer. About 5400 lines of this band have been assigned. The ground state constants for both isotopomers, CH 3 35 Cl and CH 3 37 Cl, were obtained from combination differences
