## Abstract The lowβwavenumber (10β200 cm^β1^) polarized Raman spectra of 4,4β²βdibromobenzophenone single crystal at different temperatures (10β295 K) and farβinfrared spectra (20β200 cm^β1^) of powdered samples at room temperature were recorded. The assignment of the lattice vibrations based on th

β¦ Synopsis
The low-frequency Raman spectra as a function of hydrostatic pressure for 4,4'difluorobenzophenone and 4,4'-dibromobenzophenone are presented. The change observed in some of the Raman bands suggests that the pressure induces changes in the crystal structure.

## Abstract Polarized Raman spectra of single crystals of KIO~4~ and RbIO~4~ were obtained. The observed fundamental modes satisfy the selection rules valid for the scheelite structure. The pressure dependence of the Raman spectra of KIO~4~, which was investigated up to 12 Gpa, reveals a structural
