✦ Synopsis

A tunable dye 11tser coupled with photoxoustic detection has been utdized to obtain t!x pressure broadening coefficient of the 6196.82 A line in the 6190 A vibration-rotation band of CHa_ The pressure broadening coefficient W-B found to be 0.086 + 0.006 cm-ljatm. This is m close ageement with simiir iines in the fundsmemd and loeer overtone hands of CH.t

;md provides some information about trends in collisional interactions x\ ith incre&n~ \ibratioml excitation.

Pressure broadening of rotational transitions in the nitric oxide fundamental band was studied using Fourier transform spectroscopy. Rotational level dependent broadening coefficients were determined for both the 2 1/2 and 2 3/2 substates at 300 K using the five noble gases as the broadening species
