## Abstract A parametric study of the Shipp‐Kaplan procedure shows promise for the use of reduced amounts of cheaper mixed solvent systems, the use of lower quantities of more concentrated hypochlorite, and elimination of the aging period. Use of methanol as the sole reaction solvent at 50Β°C shows
