The title compounds have been prepared. Infrared spectra of these compounds indicate that titanium is four-coordinate in them. These compounds form complexes of the type Ti(OR)C13~L or 2L (where R = CzH4CI or CzHzF3 and L is monodentate ligand) with various oxygen and nitrogen ligands. The complexes

โฆ Synopsis
The synthesis and characterization of some compounds of titanium(IV) with the formula T&_,-(ORt), (where x = 2, 3 for X = Cl; x = 1, 2 for X = isopropoxy and ORt = 2,2,2-tri~oroethoxy, OCH,-CFJ and their adducts with a nitrile (CH&N, C,H,-CN) and the alcohol RtOH are reported. Using an acidity scale based on NMR data, the lipand, 2,2,2tnfluoroethoxy is compared with other ligands such as chlorine and isopropoxy and the foIlowing decreasing order of electron donor ability, OR > OR, > C7, is obtained. Attempts to prepare alkylated compounds RTi(ORt), (R = CH,, C,&sCHJ from TiCI-(ORt)s are reported and the cleavage of the titanium carbon bond in these compounds is found to take place readily by action of nucleophilic agents The reactivity of the titanium oxygen bond of Ti-ORt is tested towards some substitution and insertion reactions
