## Abstract 2‐Phenyl‐3‐[__p__‐(2‐diethylaminoethoxy)phenyl]‐6‐methoxyindene‐3^14^C hydrochloride was prepared from phenylacetic acid‐1‐^14^C in a four step sequence of reactions. The final product was obtained in 12.5% yield at a specific activity of 0.79 mCi per mM.
