Abstract
We report a case of lateral facial cleft (Tessier 7) diagnosed by sonography at a gestational age of 24 weeks. Two‐dimensional sonography revealed a fetus appropriate for gestational age without obvious anomaly, but a three‐dimensional sonogram with surface mode rendering showed asymmetrical macrostomia as a result of a left lateral facial cleft. Our case highlights the advantage of using three‐dimensional sonography in the prenatal diagnosis of lateral facial clefts. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Clin Ultrasound, 2011
