T h e following compounds were identified and separated from Maytenns trichotomus by means of paper, thin-layer, and column chromatographic techniques: caffeine, caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid, ferulic acid, and benzoic acid. A leucoanthocyanin (leucocyanidin) was also isolated.
