โœฆ Synopsis


The structure of nickel deposited from a solution of 2 . 5 M nickel chloride at pH 3 and at 260ยฐC has been investigated . X-ray diffraction methods showed that the nickel crystallites have [111] orientation axis . Electron microscopic studies showed that the deposits have a gross crystalline structure with the (111) plane parallel to the substrate . The results are in full agreement with the theory of preferred orientation developed by calculating the work of formation of the two-dimensional nuclei of the equilibrium planes .

Zusanuneafassung-Man untersuchte die Struktur von Nickelniederschlagen, welche aus einer 2,5 M Nickelchloridlosung vom pH 3 bei 260ยฐC abgschieden wurden . RSntgenographische Messungen zeigten, dass die Nickelkristallite eine (1111-Orientierungsachse besitzen . Elektronenmikroskopische Untersuchungen ergaben, dass die Niederschlbge grobkristallin sind and dass die [1l1]-Ebenen parallel zar Unterlage liegen . Die Ergebnisse stehen in guter Obereinstimmung mit der Theorie der bevorzugten Orientierung, welche auf Grund der Berechnung der Wahrscheinlichkeit fur die Bildung der zweidimensionalen Keime der Gleichgewichtsebenen aufgestellt worden war .
