β¦ Synopsis
A BS TRA C T Tile method of statistical energy analysis (SEA) has been used to predict the sound .field in rooms containing noise sources. Because SEA takes into account the c, ibration modes both of the boundaries of the room and of the room itself together with the energy transport between them, the predictions of SEA are closer to measured results than those obtained by the statistical acoustical method (SAM) based on Sabine's theory. The validity of prediction by SEA is discussed.

Inclusion of non-resonant component is expected to improve the estimation of response of a structure to acoustic excitation. In this paper this is veri"ed experimentally. A typical plate is subjected to acoustic excitation in a reverberant chamber and the acceleration responses are measured. The exp
The application of Statistical Energy Analysis techniques to work on vehicle noise and vibration is increasing. SEA is now used as a design tool for many commercial vehicles. In this work structural vibration transmission in the body of a motor car is studied. There is very little published work eit
The ability to successfully predict the bond dissociation energies of the phenol OαH bond is important in medicinal chemistry for a variety of therapeutic applications. Previous reports utilized rigorous approaches with semi-empirical, ab initio and density functional theory, as well as more empiric
