✦ Synopsis

The structure of the title compound, Cu 2 [Mo(CN) 8 ]Á4H 2 O, contains Mo IV ions in a distorted square-antiprismatic geometry (site symmetry 1) linked through CN ligands to four Jahn-Teller-distorted octahedral Cu II ions (site symmetry 2) and four trigonal-bipyramidal Cu II ions (site symmetry 1).
