Graft polymerization of metal chelate monomers based on 1-phenyl-4-methylpent-4en-l,3-dione onto a polyethylene powder pre-irradiated in air has been studied. The kinetic features of the grafting have been investigated. Polymers containing metal chelate units with a metal content as high as 0.64 wt%
