β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
MgCl~2~/TiCl~4~/SiO~2~ catalysts were prepared by treating TiCl~4~/SiO~2~ with MgCl~2~ Β· 2THF (THF: tetrahydrofuran) at different Mg/Ti ratios. The catalysts were analysed by Xβray, electron spin resonance (ESR), atomic absorption spectrometry to determine the crystal structure, oxidation state of titanium and also contents of Ti, Al and Mg. Homoβ and copolymerizations of ethylene and propene were conducted with them using Al(iβC~4~H~9~)~3~ as a cocatalyst. The results of polymerization were correlated with the analytical data of the catalyst.

This study focuses on the kinetics of ethylene/propylene (homo/co)polymerization reactions using a high activity TiCl 4 /MgCl 2 /AlEt 3 catalyst. The reactor system is a gas phase reactor equipped with an on-line composition control scheme. As such, important kinetic data such as the instantaneous r
