β¦ Synopsis
A~traet--Polymerization of 4-biphenyl methacrylate with AIBN as initiator in DMF follows normal kinetics at 50Β°C. The overall activation parameters, determined by combined isothermal and dynamic thermal analysis, were E a = 58 + 4 kJmol -I and In A = 14.4 + 1.3. Molecular weights,/1~, and h,3,, of the polymers varied between 25 Γ 103 and 109 x 103 and between 8000 and 32,000, respectively. The microstructure was predominantly syndiotactic and similar to that of poly(phenyl methacrylate); compared with poly(methyl methacrylate), it is more heterotactic and less syndiotactic.

Di-t-butyl perfumarate (DBPF) was found to induce the radical polymerizations of various vinyl monomers at 60Β°C in benzene, although the initiation activity was considerably lower than those of dimethyl 2,2Π-azobisisobutyrate and benzoyl peroxide. The polymerizations with DBPF showed a tendency of d
An integral relationship, first given by Nishimura, has been applied to the bulk and solution polymerizations (dead-end data) of ethyl methacrylate. The kinetic rate constants calculated by this method for the bulk and solution cases are compared. The results are also compared with those previously
## Abstract In this study, a new phase transfer catalyst has been synthesized and characterized, which is used for the study of kinetics and mechanism of the free radical polymerization of ethyl methacrylate. The reactions were carried out using peroxodisulfate as initiator in inert and unstirred c
## Abstract The kinetics of methyl methacrylate (MMA) homopolymerization performed by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) is investigated in detail using ethylβ2βbromopropionate (EPNβBr) as initiator, CuBr as catalyst, and pentamethyldiethylenetriamine (PMDETA) as ligand in ionic liquids (I
