✦ Synopsis
The asymmetric unit in the title complex, [Pr(C 8 H 12 O 4 )-(C 8 H 13 O 4 )(H 2 O)] n , comprises a Pr 3+ cation, a suberate dianion (L 2À ), a protonated suberate anion (HL À ) and one aqua ligand. The L 2À and HL À ligands show similar coordination modes. The crystal structure features infinite praseodymium-oxygen chains of edge-shared (PrO 9 ) polyhedra connected by carbon backbones to form a threedimensional framework.

In the title compound, [Gd 2 (C 8 H 4 O 4 ) 2 (C 8 H 5 O 4 ) 2 (H 2 O)]ÁH 2 O, the Gd III ions are nine-coordinated and linked by carboxylate O bridges, giving rise to right-and left-handed inorganic helical chains. The crystal structure is stabilized by intra-and intermolecular O-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen b
The title compound, {K[Nd(C 2 O 4 ) 2 (H 2 O)]Á2H 2 O} n , has been prepared hydrothermally. Every Nd III atom is linked to four others through oxalate anions lying on centres of inversion, generating a three-dimensional anionic network with channels that contain K + cations and water molecules.
