โฆ Synopsis
Abstraet--Poly(acrylonitrile-co-tetrahydrofurfuryl methacrylate) with acrylonitrile contents ranging from 10.0 to 89.3 mol% were prepared at 80 ยฐ in dimethylformamide with azobisisobutyronitrile as initiator. Monomer reactivity ratios of acrylonitrile and tetrahydrofurfuryl methacrylate were found to be 0.32 and 1.22, respectively. Thermogravimetric studies showed that the thermal stability of copolymer increases with increasing acrylonitrile content. All the copolymers are immiscible with polystyrene and with poly(p-methylstyrene). The immiscibility of the blends is as predicted by a binary interaction model.
