โฆ Synopsis
Two-photon excitation spectra of a methylcyclohexane solution of triptycene using linearly and circularly polarized light are recorded. It is concluded from the polarisation dependence of the spectra that there exist two electronicstates of different symmetry -2500 cm-l apart.
