3 BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY

Tested at 250 mM rac-2 and rac-21 were inactive as inhibitors of adenosylsuccinate synthetase (AdSS). Both compounds were also inactive when tested as herbicides against a selection of mono-and dicotyledonous weed species at 2 kg ha À1 in the Novartis 1a standard screen.

## Abstract A set of four 9‐mer oligonucleotide duplexes formed between the 5′‐GCAT__N__TCAC‐3′, __N__=A,C,T,G, and the 5′‐GTGATATGC‐3′ complement has been proposed as a model system for the investigation of novel oligonucleotide analogues (candidates for antisense use) binding selectivity. Raman m
