A new piperidine alkaloid plakoridine C (1) has been isolated from an Okinawan marine sponge Plakortis species, and the structure was elucidated from spectroscopic data. Plakoridine C ( ) is a new alkaloid possessing a piperidine ring connected to a b-keto-c-lactone through a double bond.
