Es wird die Synthese des Piperazino‐1′, 2′: 1,2‐benzirnidazol‐ Ringsystems beschrieben: (a) durch Angliederung eines Piperazin‐ Ringes an Benzimidazol; (b) durch Ringschluss eines geeignet substituierten Piperazins zum Benzimidazol‐Derivat nach der Methode von Saunders^2^.

In the molecule of the title compound, C 14 H 12 N 2 S, the benzimidazole ring system and the phenyl ring form a dihedral angle of 81.36 (7) . The crystal structure exhibits intermolecular C-HÁ Á ÁN and N-HÁ Á ÁN hydrogen bonds.
