โœฆ Synopsis

Lasing of a dye-doped polymer microparticle in water was induced with the 532 'nm ps pulse excitation from a Q-switched Nd3+ :YAG laser. Temporal characteristics of the laser oscillation was confirmed in a few tens of ps time region, which depends on both wavelength and dye concentration. The lasing dynamics was interpreted in terms of quality factors (Qs) of the lasing cavity due to absorption by dye.
