We report on the first observation of stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in cubic SrF2. All recorded high-order Stokes and anti-Stokes lasing sidebands in the visible and near-IR (up to the 28th order) are identified to the single SRS-promoting vibration mode of the crystal with Ο β 282 cm -1 . β¦ Synopsis
Efficient room-temperature Stokes and anti-Stokes Ο (3) -nonlinear picosecond generation, which spans more than two octaves (β 23012 cm -1 ) has been observed in a natural crystal of orthorhombic SrSO 4 (celestine). All recorded lasing lines in the visible and near-IR regions are identified and attributed to its SRS-promoting vibration mode Ο SRS β 999 cm -1 .
