✦ Synopsis
We report on the first observation of stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in cubic SrF2. All recorded high-order Stokes and anti-Stokes lasing sidebands in the visible and near-IR (up to the 28th order) are identified to the single SRS-promoting vibration mode of the crystal with ω ≈ 282 cm -1 . We believe that the recorded multi-wavelength cascaded χ (3) -lasing comb in SrF 2 helps to approach to an experimental solution of the tempting possibility for synthesis of a new type of femtosecond waveforms.
