β¦ Synopsis
Photoevcltatlon of NI(II)-and A&II)-porphyrms with a 10 ps pulse at 530 nm produces a new transient absorptIonThe transient species hfetunes were 250 f. 50 ps and 15 +-8 ps for Nr and Ag-porphyrins, respectwely. It is shown that the triplet state 15 responsible for Uus absorption in Ag-porphyrin. 1. Background The pathways of intramolecular energy de-excltatlon for porphyrins, chlorophylls and some metalloporphyrins have already been found experimentally [l-S]_ The situation becomes more complicated when we deal wnh metalloporphyrins m which the central atom has an unfilled d-shell. Having in view that these compounds include Iron, cobalt and copper complexes, which are the active parts of many biologrcal systems it becomes obvious that detailed studies of the photophysical and photochemrcal properties of these molecules are needed. All these compounds are practically non-fluorescent and in most cases are non-phosphorescent either 161.
