Die 2-Oxo-2,5-dihydro-1,3,4-oxadiazole 1 stellen eine fiir thermische und photochemische Cycloeliminierungen besonders interessante Substanzklasse dar, weil sie theoretisch N2, CO oder CO2 als energiearme Bruchstiicke abspalten kijnnen.

A priori ist also mit der Bildung von Ketonen ,2, Diazoverbindungen 2 und Carbenen 2 bzw. ihren Folgeprodukten zu rechnen.
