✦ Synopsis

Plastic deformation of SrO single crystals induces the increase of the 500 nm luminescence and the appearance of a 540 nm emission band. Both deformation related bands show different annealing behavior. The increase of the 540 nm band during annealing at 350°C suggest the existence of aggregation processes to form complex defects which cause the emission.
