The photochemistry of g-divinylbenzene (eq. 1) has been shown to be closely related to that of 1,3,5_hexatrienes. I,2 Further studies on the closely related c-(2-methylpropenyl)styrene (L), prepared as outlined below, reveal some new features of these reactions.
