✦ Synopsis

2,3-Dihydro-5-benzofuranols are synthesized by photo-2 and 3 with a series of terminal and symmetrical or unsymmetrical internal alkynes. No benzannulation reaction, chemical benzannulation of pentacarbonyl[(5-methylene or 5-benzylidene)-2-oxacyclopentylidene]chromium complexes however, is observed under the standard thermal conditions.
