✦ Synopsis
The thermal diffusivity, thermal conductivity and heat capacity of mixed crystals of KCI i -x Brx :Eu2 + (0 ~ X < I) were obtained using the open photoacoustic cell technique and the temperature-rise method. The thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity show a nonlinear behavior as a function of the concentration X. This behavior is explained by the disorder in the material due to the random distribution of the Cl and Br atoms in the lattice sites. The Eu 2+ dopant does not affect the composition dependence of these thermal properties.
