Abstract

(3__S__,7__R__,8__E__,10__E__)‐3,7,9‐Trimethyl‐8,10‐dodecadien‐6‐one (1), the major component of the female‐produced sex pheromone of the maritime pine scale (Matsucoccus feytaudi), was synthesized by starting from epoxide 2, which was obtained from meso‐epoxy diacetate (F) by employing enzyme‐catalyzed asymmetric hydrolysis as the key step.
