✦ Synopsis
The following issues concerning UPd2A13 are addressed: (i) its anisotropic magnetic phase diagram which can be explained by domain-reorientation effects, (ii) the coexistence between magnetically ordered local 5f moments and Cooper pairs formed by weakly delocalized 5f states and (iii) distinct anomalies in the sample length measured both v s T and B, suggesting a strongly undercooled first-order transition at B* (T) g Bc2(T) for T < T* ~ 0.8 Tc •

We present a neutron diffraction study on a polycrystalline sample of the heavy-fermion compound UPd2Ga3. Both the crystallographic and magnetic structure have been determined. Below the antiferromagnetic ordering temperature TN = 13.4 K, uranium moments of 0.50(5)#B orient parallel to the hexagonal
We report experimental results of the electrical resistivity and the specific heat of UPd2÷xAia+r(nominal) single crystals. An anomaly in the specific heat, which was reported previously, has disappeared in the present measurement, although there still exists an anomaly in the thermal expansion. The
Elastic constants and thermal expansion on UPd2Ala have been measured. Elastic constants exhibit anomalies around TN = 14.5 K and T~ = i.8 K. Anomalous behaviors around 0.6 K in C~ ~, C3~ and thermal expansion are consistent with previous specific heat measurements. Superconducting Griineisen consta
