โฆ Synopsis
With this issue, we begin what we hope will become a regular feature of the Journal of Orthopaedic Research with the publication of an article (beginning on page 11) featuring a perspective on the emerging field of nanobiomaterials. The article is one of two to be prepared from workshops held at the 2006 Annual Meeting of the Orthopaedic Research Society. Advancements in materials science, engineering, and biomimetics have provided the opportunity to design and fabricate materials at the ultrastructural level that could have exciting and important clinical applications. We are pleased to have invited a panel of expert authors all of whom are at the cutting edge of orthopedic research in this area to provide their viewpoint on this important new field.
In the future, we will regularly publish perspective articles on other topics highlighted at the Annual Meeting's workshops and symposia. Though the emphasis of the Journal will continue
