โฆ Synopsis
The performance of glass RPCs operated in avalanche mode has been studied by varying both particle rate (up to about 100 Hz=cm 2 equivalent m.i.p.) and temperature (up to 40 C). The glass RPC rate capability is seen to strongly improve with increasing temperature, due to the lowering of the glass electrodes volume resistivity.
